HACO is proud to celebrate and support higher education for Hmong youth! In 2019, we launched the Hmong Oregon Scholarship Fund to help students achieve their college dreams. Each year, we award at least three $1,000 scholarships to outstanding graduating high school seniors and current college students in Oregon—giving bright Hmong students the support they need to reach the next level!
The scholarship application deadline for the 2026-27 academic school year is March 1, 2026. Apply online today!
Application requirements are:
- Graduating high school senior or current college student in the state of Oregon
- Pursuing a degree at an accredited 2 or 4-year college or university
- GPA of 2.0 or higher
- Be of Hmong descent
- Answer to essay question
- High school or college transcript
- 2 recommendation letters
Announcing our 2025-26 Scholarship Recipients
We are excited to announce 3 scholarship recipients for this upcoming school year:
- Lezlee Vang is a Roosevelt high school senior who loves to cook and play volleyball, and is going to attend University of Oregon to study business.
- Kylie Kue is a PSU junior who enjoys collaborating with other Asian student groups on campus to raise cultural awareness.
- Keira Cha is a medical assistant who works to ensure our communities can access healthcare. She is currently pursuing Nursing at Mt. Hood Community College.
Congratulations to our 2024-25 Scholarship Recipients
We are honored to share that Ethan Vue from David David Douglas High School and Wesley Cha from Sam Barlow High School are the recipients of the Hmong Oregon Scholarship for the 2024-25 school year. Ethan is interested in studying Business at the University of Oregon and Wesley is interested in studying Education at PCC and then planning to transfer to Portland State University.
